"I tried out the boat on Saturday. The pump is great & inflates the boat quickly. The boat is pretty stable & goes quite fast when rowing, oars are a little short. We tried paddling the boat & it also goes quite fast, I will have to buy some longer paddles. The boat is heavy & seems pretty well built.
Thank you for the boat & for answering my questions."

" Bought a Kaboat 470XL this winter after much research. This is an impressive boat, especially for the money. I have a 6hp Yamaha four stroke for power on it. It is a long shaft motor as it is the kicker for my jet boat so I built a transom extender for the Kaboat. I raised the motor as high as I possibly could and added a hydrofoil. The result is I can run in 8'' of water with a prop driven boat. The boat itself drafts less than 2'' of water which is excellent for drifting shallow rivers. The boat does approx 20 km/h with the 6hp. I have also ran the boat on large lakes in 2 ft and larger waves. It is very stable and the raised bow rides up on the waves rather than spearing through. The rub strakes on the side are also excellent spray rails. It was a very dry ride in windy, rough water conditions.

The narrow width makes it excellent for navigating boulders as it can fit through chutes that large rafts of bigger jetboats cant fit through.

The extra layers on the bottom are very tough. It shows no signs of wear after dragging up onto many rocky shores and gravel beaches. These are excellent boats. The only extra you need is a vinyl or carpet cover over the airdeck floor to protect it from rock punctures. "

"Just got back from Parry Sound with the boat. The quality of the boat is first rate. Even my wife said she enjoyed going out in it much more than canoeing. I had my Honda 2hp on it. By myself, with no gear it will 'just' plane. With gear or 2 people, it will only go in displacement mode. I didn't get a speed on it. Coming around the tip of Killbear point the water was fairly rough with a 1-2ft swell and large wakes from many other boats. In my canoe it would have been very dangerous. In the Kaboat I was playing in the waves, surfing them. I feel 100% confident in this boat even crossing big water, it's that stable.

Not sure if I'll keep the 2HP Honda or move to a larger engine 5hp, or maybe 9.9. I may be going out again later this week and I'll try to take some video of the Georgian Bay Islands.

Thanks again Michael for your great service."
